Common name: Long-tailed meadowlark
Scientific name: Sturnella loyca
Size between 9″ and 11″. Easy-to-identify for its bright red chest. It is mainly found in lowlands or scrubland areas. Most of the time can be seen alone or in couples, while in flocks during winter. This bird is a resident species (do not migrate), therefore inhabits the territory of Tierra del Fuego all year round.
